Alba Bible

- the oldest of the Old Testament translation into the Romanesque (medieval Castilian). Was translated from He brew by Sephardic Rabbi Moses Arragela the command of the Grand M aster of the Order of Calatrava, Don Luis Guzmán. Work on it was completed in 1430 year. Translation was accompanied by commentaries of Jewish and Christian theologians such as Maimonides and Abraham ibn Ezra. The manuscript is richly decorated with miniatures made by the Franciscans. From 1622 he has been owned by the princes of Alba, which owes its name.
